Fat Injection

What Is Fat Injection
Fat injection is an increasingly popular procedure and involves fat being withdrawn from one area of your body and injected into another — for example, to smooth lines in your face or build up other features, such as your lips. In a sense, it is “recycling” your own fat, which is highly desirable for many patients because the fat is your own tissue and therefore there is no chance of allergy or rejection.
Although patients achieve long-lasting results, a certain percentage of injected fat is reabsorbed by the body. Therefore, the procedure may need to be repeated to achieve and maintain the results you desire.
Fat Injection In The Face And Breasts
Fat injection that is properly performed in areas of the face, or used to “fill in” contour irregularities in other parts of the body, such as the hips or buttocks, is a safe and effective procedure.
Please note that injection of fat to enlarge the breasts is a controversial procedure because of the possibility of dense scarring that may seriously hinder accurate interpretation of both breast self-exams and mammograms. (See Breast Augmentation).

How Much Do Fat Injections Cost?
Because the texture and appearance of every woman’s facial skin is unique and the results she is seeking from fat injections are specific to her, the exact cost of this facial rejuvenation treatment is determined by Dr. Beran after he has met with the patient and together, they have decided what type of procedure will achieve the best possible results.

Fat Injection FAQs
Fat injection uses fat from one part of your own body to add volume or smooth areas somewhere else. For the face, that can mean softening lines or restoring fullness where the face has started to look thinner with age. It is your own tissue, which is one reason people like the idea.
Fat injection uses fat taken from your own body instead of a ready-made filler product. Some of that fat can stay for a long time, but some may not survive the transfer. That is why the final result is not always as predictable as a standard filler appointment. In summary, fat is a living material while a filler is an inert material.
The fat is usually taken from an area where there is enough to spare, then cleaned and placed where more fullness is needed. The exact donor area depends on your body and the plan. Think of it as moving your own tissue, not adding a product from a syringe box.
Some of the transferred fat can last, but not all of it always stays. The body may absorb part of it while the area settles. That is why the result may need time to show clearly, and some patients may choose a follow-up treatment later.
Yes. Fat can be used to fill contour irregularities in other areas of the body, such as the hips or buttocks. Breast fat injection is more complicated and can be controversial because of scarring concerns that may interfere with breast exams or mammograms.
The cost depends on where the fat is being placed, what kind of change is being planned, and how much work is needed to get the desired result. That is why pricing is usually discussed after the consultation, not guessed before the plan is clear.
